Casting Call for feature film, pay $3,000 – ‘The Reaving’ is an intense story that explores the darkest aspects of the psyche – how trauma can send a person into the hellish regions of the mind. Although ugly things happen in the movie, beauty resides there as well. It’s up to the viewer to decide whether to pity or condemn.
The movie will be shot in HD, to be released primarily as straight-to-DVD, with options for Blueray and transfer to film (in case of a theater deal). Auditions will be announced in September. Filming will take place shortly after that, presumably taking 2-3 weeks to complete. Locations are all in New Jersey, primarily Lincoln Park.
Compensation is $3,000 for each of the three main characters (female), which is a flat fee (you get paid that whether it takes 7 days or 21 days), and meals. Transportation costs are not included. If you commute from NYC, whether by bus or train, you can be picked up by car from the bus/train stop by one of the crew.
The movie will be produced by Platinum Pictures and directed by Bill Zebub. It is a horror/thriller and the target MPAA rating is ‘R’
CATHERINE: This is the hardest character to play because she slips in and out of a psychotic state. She had suffered a series of tragic events. When a burglar terrorized her she finally snapped. One of her psychotic states is when she has internalized her attacker – she behaves toward others the way the burglar behaved toward her. In other psychotic states, Catherine has regressed to a child-like state – returning to the only time that she ever felt sanctuary. Her usual personality emerges from time to time. She has a pivotal scene in which everything is shed, and the true self is expressed – a very sad scene. Pay is $3,000
