Casting Call – Are You 25+ and Still Living at Home?
Posted by Calls & Castings in Reality TV Casting Calls, Reality TV Castings on April 27th, 2010
Casting Call: “Living Arrangements” from the Producer’s of “The Jersey Shore!”
Yeah, I live with my parents. So what?
Now Casting: 25+ and living at home.
You’ve got big plans for the future and you know how it’s going to turn out; as long as everyone just gets off your back and lets you do your thing! Yeah, so what if you’re still crashing at home?
Move out? Why the hell would you do that?! You’ve got a good thing going…who can take care of you better than your mom and dad? You’ve got someone that cooks and cleans for you, someone who does your laundry… What more could you want? Besides, you’ve got better things to spend your party stipend on than stupid bull like rent and bills. Who wants to end up stuck in some dead end 9 to 5 for the rest of their life?
You’ve got your own life to lead! And you know what? You’ve got it made! You rule the club scene, you’ve got mad style, and the only hard part about bringing someone back home is sneaking them out before mom and dad wake up.
Doron Ofir Casting (who brought you Jersey Shore!) and 495 Productions are putting together a new show, and we’re looking for the people that have something to prove and nothing to lose. You were waiting for your moment to break out and this is it. If you’re over 25 and living with your parents, we want to hear from you! Let’s face it, you’re not getting any younger. Live it up while you still can!
Send us your NAME, PHONE NUMBER, LOCATION, 2 PHOTOS, DESCRIPTION OF LIVING SITUATION (Who do you live with?) and a BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF YOURSELF to: LivingArrangementsCasting@gmail.com
Feature Film Casting New York
Posted by Calls & Castings in Feature Film, NYC Castings on April 26th, 2010
Things I Don’t Understand is the new feature film from the filmmakers of the critically/commercially successful indie valentine to NYC “…Around” (www.aroundthefilm.com) shooting in Brooklyn in the Fall and auditioning this Summer in NYC.
The story follows Violet Kubelick, a brilliant young grad student studying near-death experiences and her recent withdrawn, closed-off behavior after a mysterious, failed suicide attempt. She and her two artist-roommates are forced by financial matters to finally confront their fears and step out of the protective bubble they’ve created for themselves in their Brooklyn loft. A story of changing, relationships, love, life and what comes after we die.
Violet (late 20’s/early 30’s) Caucasian; a highly intelligent former grad student who’s thesis was on what happens after one dies, interviewed those with near death experiences. Mysteriously attempted suicide and has spent the last few years and has withdrawn into a life of random “romantic” encounters, alcohol, guarded cynicism. Forced by a financial situations and a therapist that pushes her to restart her thesis to confront her life/demons. Estranged from her family.
Remy (late 20’s/early 30’s) Violet’s roommate and closet friend. A spoiled, bi-sexual, French punk-rocker and musician. Overly emotional, very childish. A bit of a stoner and prescription pill fan. The son of diplomats, recently cut-off and having to adapt to fending for himself.
Gabby Hunt (early 30’s) another of Violet’s roommates. A political activist/feminist/performance artist. Works with an environmental group “Green Wrath”, putting together a secret play/show dealing with “women’s issues”. Secretly longs for male affection and a relationship. Bit of a love-hate-antagonistic relationship with Remy.
Parker (late 20′/early-mid 30’s) a bartender in the bar below the loft of the main characters. Talented artist with a mysterious and dark past. Recently separated from his wife. Dryly funny.
Sara (late teens/early 20’s) a former dancer, terminally ill and an amputee. In a hospice and interviewed by Violet as she takes up her thesis again. Forms a cathartic bond with her in the sessions. Funny, stiff upper lip but in intense pain. A physical representation of Violet’s deeper fears.
Darla (20’s) a painfully pretty Australian. Aspiring actress and bartender/barback. Heart of gold, earnest and always chipper with a lovely smile but not always a lot going up on top.
Also looking for additional talent for featured/supporting roles.

NBC, FREMANTLEMEDIA AND YOUTUBE HOLD ONLINE AUDITIONS FOR #1 HIT SUMMER SERIES ‘AMERICA’S GOT TALENT’
Beginning April 26, Acts From Across the Country Can Upload Their Audition Videos to YouTube for Chance to Perform and Compete for $1 Million Prize
UNIVERSAL CITY, California – April 26, 2010 – NBC and the producers of “America’s Got Talent,” premiering June 1 (8-10 p.m. ET), have partnered with YouTube to allow talented acts from across the country to audition online for a shot at performing live on the #1 hit summer series, it was announced today by Paul Telegdy, Executive Vice President, Alternative Programming, NBC and Universal Media Studios, and Cecile Frot-Coutaz, CEO of FremantleMedia North America and executive producer of “America’s Got Talent.”
Beginning April 26 through June 18, talented acts can upload their audition videos at www.youtube.com/americasgottalent. From the submissions, the show’s producers will select 40 acts to be posted on the special “AGT” YouTube site. The YouTube community will then vote for their favorite acts and the act with the most votes will get to perform LIVE on “America’s Got Talent,” alongside 11 other YouTube acts chosen by producers.
“’Expect the unexpected’ has always been core to the success of AGT,” said Telegdy. “This audacious new twist to the audition process offers our viewers not only a priceless golden ticket to get onto the biggest stage in the country in the middle of the competition, but also the opportunity for a thrilling live show where anything can happen. No other show would dare to take on this challenge.”
“We’re thrilled for the opportunity to leverage the passion, power and opinion of the YouTube community to help find the next winner of ‘America’s Got Talent,” added Frot-Coutaz.
This season, the series has traveled to Chicago, Philadelphia, New York City, Los Angeles, Dallas, Orlando, Atlanta, and Portland, but the YouTube invitations will exponentially extend the search to find the country’s freshest and unique talent.
“America’s Got Talent” has proven to be an online sensation with some of the most viewed videos on YouTube. From chicken farmer and last season’s winner Kevin Skinner to “Quick Change” and Neal Boyd’s spine-tingling opera performances to little Kaitlyn Maher singing “Somewhere Out There.” Some of the most memorable contestant moments on “AGT” became online sensations.
NBC.com will continue to host the official website for “America’s Got Talent” – http://www.nbc.com/americas-got-talent/ – and will feature full episodes of the show, weekly video highlights, contestant photos and online voting where fans will be able to vote for the finalists and ultimately the winner.
“America’s Got Talent” from “American Idol” producers FremantleMedia North America and Simon Cowell’s SYCO Television, returns this summer on June 1 (8-10 p.m. ET) with the hottest performers from across the country ready to compete in the blockbuster reality show’s fifth season. Howie Mandel (“Deal or No Deal”), one of America’s favorite entertainers, joins returning celebrity judges Sharon Osbourne and Piers Morgan this season, while actor/producer/comedian Nick Cannon also returns as host.
The series is a true celebration of the American spirit, featuring a colorful array of hopeful stars, including singers, dancers, comedians, contortionists, impressionists, jugglers, magicians and ventriloquists, all vying for their chance to strut and perform on stage hoping to win America’s hearts – and the $1 million prize.
“America’s Got Talent” is produced by FremantleMedia North America and Simon Cowell’s SYCO Television. Simon Cowell, Cecile Frot-Coutaz (“American Idol”), Jason Raff, and Ken Warwick (“American Idol”) are executive producers.

Candela: Woman, 20s. Very pretty, razor-skinny, naïve working model and hopeless romantic who falls in love at the drop of a hat. Much smarter than she appears, with a small-town innocence underneath her cosmopolitan sexiness. Truly in love with Ivan. Her diet consists of lettuce and diuretics. Strong comic actor and singer.
Lucia: Woman, 50s. Ivan’s ex-wife. She has just been released from a mental institution after 20 years, but she is still mad. Marisa: CAST. Woman, 20s. Carlos’s snobby fiancée. A striking, exotic, unusual-looking woman. Very matter-of-fact and no-nonsense. Stern, depressed, competitive with Candela. Firmly holding onto her virginity, but with a smolder that will eventually emerge. Strong comic actor and singer. This role will dance.
Paulina: CAST. Woman, mid 30s – early 40s. A smart lawyer, a 1987 feminist, and a bitch—although we must also believe she can be swept off her feet. Attractive underneath her business suit and stern demeanor. Ambitious, funny, on par with Pepa. It’s a surprise that she ends up with Ivan. Strong comic actor and singer.
Taxi Driver: CAST. Woman, mid 30s – 40s. Very off-center, very talkative, and big-hearted. Takes on the problems of any of his passengers. He is the spirit and energy of Madrid. Strong comic actor and singer.

Are you “passing” as someone you’re not? Have you been passing in school, at work, in your community or anywhere else as being of a different race, gender, sexual orientation or other identity from what you actually are? Are you considering “coming out” and putting your days of passing behind you?
If you are passing as someone of a different race, gender, sexual orientation or otherwise, MTV wants to hear from you. If you appear to be between the ages of 15 and 28, please email us at passing@mtvn.com. Please be sure to include your name, location and phone number.
